Week of April 29th, 2019

Ray School Walk-a-thon – Ray school is having a walk-a-thon on Friday, May 17th.  All students will walk in this year’s walk-a-thon. We are asking all families to set up a Dojiggy account and ask friends and families to contribute through their Dojiggy page.  Each classroom is a team, and we would love for room 212 to play a leading role in this year’s fundraiser. Here is the link for setting up your dojiggy account: http://rayschool.dojiggy.com

Math – This week students will begin working in Unit 10. Units 9 and 10 are both short, so students will take a combined test later this quarter on both units.  Students will gain additional practice this week on multi-digit addition and subtraction. Students can also continue their independent learning at home by visiting mobymax.com.  Our school is listed as Ray elem, and students know their online usernames and passwords.

Language Arts – This week, we will continue working with poetry.  This week students will learn about onomatopoeia and finish creating their own poems.  Students can also continue independent reading practice at home on Headsprout.com. The class username is mmwebb1.  Students know their individual passwords once on the class website.

Social Studies – This week we will begin preparing our Passport unit.  This week we will learn about France. If you would like to present a country that you have lived in or visited with our class, please email me at mmwebb@cps.edu and we will set up a time for you to present a country to us..
