Week of April 8th, 2019

Snacks – We have run very low on snacks.  If you have not sent a snack contribution in recently, please consider sending one in now.  We currently have 25 students in our classroom.

 

Report Card Pick-up – Report card pick up conferences are this Wednesday.  I sent sign up forms home last week. If you have not yet scheduled a conference, please email me at mmwebb@cps.edu

 

Math – This week students will continue working in Unit 9. Students will begin to learn about area and perimeter. Students can also continue their independent learning at home by visiting mobymax.com.  Our school is listed as Ray elem, and students know their online usernames and passwords.

 

Language Arts – This week, we will continue working with poetry and figurative language.  We will learn about metaphors and similes this week. Students can also continue independent reading practice at home on Headsprout.com.  The class username is mmwebb1. Students know their individual passwords once on the class website.

 

Social Studies – This week we will begin preparing for our Passport unit.  We will begin learning about various countries around the world, their customs and traditions.  If you would like to present a country that you have lived in or visited with our class, please email me at mmwebb@cps.edu and we will set up a time for you to present a country to us..

 

Science – This week students will continue working in our Science unit – Earth Movements.  This week students will explore volcanoes.
