Volunteer Reminder – The final step of the volunteer process is to show your ID card to Mrs. Neely.  If you have not completed the volunteer process yet, please visit: https://cpsparentu.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=319488&type=d.  Please complete the application process now so that you are cleared for future field trips and volunteer opportunities.

County Line Orchard Field Trip – We are visiting the County Line Orchard this Friday.  The cost of the field trip is $18. Please remember to pack a bagged lunch for your child on Friday, and dress them properly for the weather.  We are planning for the trip rain or shine. There is limited space for chaperones, so they will be assigned on a first come first served basis.

Math – This week students will take the Unit 2 math test on Tuesday.  We will then begin working on Unit 3, which focuses on place value, money, and time.

Language Arts – This week we will continue reading our first novel of the year, Zeely by Virginia Hamilton.  Our reading skills this week are fact and opinion and author’s purpose.  In writing students will finish writing their second narrative piece of the year.  Students will work to follow the story structure we’ve been studying with their second narratives.

Social StudiesThis week we will continue our Native American unit.  Students will learn about the Native Americans of the Eastern Woodlands area.

Science – This week students will continue with our solids and liquids unit.  This week students will begin learning about physical change.
