Week of October 15th, 2018

Volunteer Reminder – The final step of the volunteer process is to show your ID card to Mrs. Neely.  If you have not completed the volunteer process yet, please visit: https://cpsparentu.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=319488&type=d.  Please complete the application process now so that you are cleared for future field trips and volunteer opportunities.


Math – This week students will continue working in unit 2. Unit 2 focuses on learning patterns to help students memorize their addition and subtraction facts.  This week students will compare weights and practice using in and out boxes.


Language Arts – This week we will continue reading our first novel of the year, Zeely by Virginia Hamilton.  Our reading skill this week cause and effect.  In writing students will finish writing their second narrative piece of the year.  Students will work to follow the story structure we’ve been studying with their second narratives.  


Social StudiesThis week we will begin our Native American unit.  Students will learn about the rich history of the People of the Plains this week.


Science – This week students will continue with our solids and liquids unit.  This week students will begin observing the properties of liquids.
