Week of March 12th, 2018

Math – This week we will continue working on Unit 7.   Students will focus on finding missing addends, solve addition problems using 3 or more addends, and explore U.S customary length units measuring to the nearest yard. Students will also continue learning how to subtract multi-digit numbers with regrouping.  Finally, students will continue their individualized small group math instruction and Mobymax. Students may work on their Mobymax at home as well as at school.

 

Language Arts – This week we will focus on text and graphic features while reading our story, The Signmaker’s Assistant. We will identify different graphic features within The Signmaker’s Assistant and discuss how they are helpful for readers. Students will continue writing their persuasive writing pieces. Students will take a reading and vocabulary test this Friday on the reading selection.  Finally, students will continue their individualized reading on Raz-Kids.com and Moby Max reading.

 

Vocabulary words: assistant, agreed, polite, failed, tearing, wisdom, cleared, trouble       

 

Social StudiesThis week we will continue our social studies unit on Ancient Civilizations: China. Students will continue learning where China is located in relation to other countries on a world map, as well as a map of Asia.   

 

Science – This week we will continue wrapping up our Earth’s Systems unit, All About Earth: Landforms and Changes. We will finish discussing bodies of water and review fast and slow changes to landforms.
