Week of February 5th, 2018

Math – This week we will continue working in Unit 6 which focuses on analyzing, and organizing data.  Students will continue learning how to subtract multi-digit numbers.  Students will also continue with their individualized small group math instruction and Mobymax.  Students may work on their Mobymax at home as well as at school.   

 

Language Arts – This week we will finish reading our novel The Hundred Dresses. We will introduce story structure, focusing on introduction and conclusion. Students will also give and listen to one another’s African American history projects.

 

Social StudiesThis week we will continue our African American history studies.  Students freedom quilt projects are now due at school.  Students will present their quilt squares to one another this week.  In addition, we will learn about Frederick Douglass, the civil war, and reconstruction.

 

Science – This week students will continue working in our science unit Land and Water.  This week students will continue to learn about the ways that land resources have shaped human development.
