Week of November 13, 2017

Report Card Pickup Conferences – Parent teacher conferences are this Wednesday.  I will be meeting with parents between 11:00am and 6:00pm (with the exception of the 3:00 hour).  I have scheduled conferences with most of you already.  If we have not yet scheduled a conference I may not have your email address, so please email me at mmwebb@cps.edu.  I look forward to seeing you all this Wednesday.


Math – This week we will wrap up Unit 3 and review for the unit test Friday. Students will learn the going-back-through-10 strategy and going-up-through-10 strategy this week. We will send home a review packet for the students on Tuesday night. They will get them back on Thursday and we will give the Unit 3 assessment on Friday. Students will also continue their individualized learning on Mobymax.  Students may work on their Mobymax at home as well as at school.   


Language Arts – This week we will finish reading  Zeely by Virginia Hamilton.  We will also finish up our Native American unit.  This week we will listen to one another’s Diorama presentations.  We will also read the story Teacher’s Pets.  Our vocabulary words are: wonderful, noises, quiet, sprinkled, share, noticed, bursting, and suddenly.  There will NOT be a reading or vocabulary test this week as students will focus on completing our Native American unit.


Social StudiesAll students should have completed their Native American Diorama projects which were do at school this morning, November 13th.  In class, we will finish up our Native American studies as we listen to one another’s diorama presentations.  


Science – This week students will continue working with solids and liquids.  This week students will continue learning about physical change.
