Week of March 13, 2017

 

 

Shedd Aquarium – We will spend Wednesday at the Shedd Aquarium.  Please remember to send your child to school with a bagged lunch for our field trip.  

 

Math – This week students will continue working in Unit 6 which focuses on multi-digit addition and subtraction.  We will plan on taking the Unit 6 test this Thursday.  Study packets will go home on Tuesday.  Please help your student prepare for Thursday’s test.  Students can also continue their individualized math lessons on mobymax.com from home.  If you have difficulty logging in from home, please let me know.

 

Language Arts – This week, we will continue reading the novel Red  by Ray school parent Liesl Shurtliff.  In addition, students will read the Journey’s story “My Name is Gabriela”. Our vocabulary words for this week are: accepted, express, taught, grand, pretend, prize, wonder, fluttering.  We will take a reading comprehension and vocabulary test on this week’s Journey’s story on Friday.  

 

Social Studies – This week we will learn about Susan B. Anthony as we continue spotlighting women for Women’s history month.  

 

Science – This week, we will continue our science unit – Land and Water.  This week students will continue learning about how land masses move, and finish making models of the earth.
