Week of February 20, 2017

 

Math – This week students will continue working in Unit 6 which focuses on multi-digit addition and subtraction.  Students can also continue their individualized math lessons on mobymax.com from home.  If you have difficulty logging in from home, please let me know.

 

Language Arts – This week, we will continue reading the novel Red  by Ray school parent Liesl Shurtliff.  In addition, students will read the Journey’s story “Officer Buckle and Gloria”. Our vocabulary words for this week are: obeys, safety, attention, buddy, station, speech, shocked, and enormous.  We will take a reading comprehension and vocabulary test on this week’s Journey’s story on Friday.  

 

Social Studies – The black history month quilt squares look fabulous!  Students will continue our black history month studies this week as we learn more about Rosa Parks and the Civil Rights movement.

 

Science – This week, we will continue our science unit – Land and Water.  This week students will continue learning about the rocks and minerals.
