Snacks and Kleenex – We are in need of snacks and tissue. Please consider sending one, or both in. Our classroom membership is currently 24 students, so if you send in a snack please send in enough for 24 students.
Math – This week students will continue working in Unit 4. Unit 4 focuses on time and introducing adding multi-digit numbers. Students can continue to work on mobymax.com from home. If you have difficulty logging in from home, please let me know.
Language Arts – This week, students will begin reading our new novel The Hundred Dresses. This is also the play we will be seeing later this month. In addition, students will read the Journey’s story “Jellies”. Our vocabulary words for this week are: millions, choices, drift, simple, weaker, wrapped, disgusting, and decide. I am introducing a reading comprehension sheet into our weekly homework rotation. Please look for it in your child’s folder each Monday. Have your child read it each night, and answer the questions. The sheet is due back at school each Friday. We will take a reading comprehension and vocabulary test on this week’s Journey’s story this Friday.
Social Studies – This week in Social Studies, we will begin our African American history unit. This week, students will begin learning about Harriet Tubman.
Science – This week, we will begin our new science unit – Balance and Motion. This week students will begin learning about what balance is, and how we maintain it.
